the month at 6:30 pm in the Hamburg Borough Municipal Meeting Room.

The Board of Health uses the services of
the Sussex County Heath Department for all health related
issues. Please contact the Sussex County Health Department by

for all information related to health screening and services.
Food Handlers Permit
All food establishments within the
boundaries of the Borough of Hamburg are required to obtain a
Food Handlers Permit Yearly. Any business that is new, renovated
or has change of ownership must get approval from the Sussex
County Health Office prior to the Borough of Hamburg issuing a
food license.
Food Handlers License Application
The County of Sussex is please to announce that it will now be
providing web access to food inspections conducted by the
Department of Environmental and Public Health Services.
Inspections conducted from January 1, 2011 forward will now be
available to the public by following the link for "Food
Inspection Results Online" on the County's website
(www.sussex.nj.us/health)
and clicking on the "Search Inspections"
icon.

The Department of Environmental Protection has established a
toll-free telephone hotline number (1-877-WARNDEP) you can use
to report environmental incidents, abuses and complaints in New
Jersey or impacting it. Visit

With the warm weather soon approaching, mosquito breeding may
soon begin. For more information on how to reduce the mosquito
annoyance around your home or in your area go to
www.state.nj.us/dep/mosquito/owners.htm. You can also visit
your local hardware department store (I.E.: Home Depot, Lowes)
to purchase larvacides to control immature mosquitoes.

Animal Licensing
All dogs and cats six months of age or
older are required by law to be licensed annually by
January 31st. A license will not be issued if the
current rabies vaccination expires before November 1, 2013.
Failure to license your animal(s)
will result in monthly $5.00 late fee beginning February 1st.
The purpose of licensing is to ensure that
all animals have received their rabies vaccination.

Be sure to include the following:

proof of current rabies vaccination (a license cannot be
issued if the rabies vaccination expires before November 1,
2013)

a check payable to: Borough of Hamburg.
The fee is $8.20 for dogs and cats that
have been spayed or neutered and $11.20 for dogs and cats
that have not been spayed or neutered

if this is a new dog or cat (6 months or
older) that is being registered for the first time, please fill
out the form and include it with you payment as well as proof of
neutering and current rabies certificate
-
a self-addressed stamped envelope must be
provided for the license to be returned by mail
Please be reminded that Borough ordinance 70-12 states "no
person owning, keeping or harboring any dog shall or permit it
to be upon the public street or any public place of the Borough
of Hamburg unless such dog is accompanied by a person over the
age of 12 years and is securely confined by an adequate leash
not more than 6 feet long".
